After a tough 7 weeks of fighting 2 serious viruses I was not sure how Eagleman would play out. I entered the race tired. I knew going into it that I would have to assess my race strategy and nutrition every step of the way. My nutrition plan was solid: Profile Aero Drink filled with 32oz. of Lemon Lime EFS and 1x 22oz bottle of the same. I had a topped off flask of Kona Mocha Liquid Shot and was prepared to pick up a bottle of water at the 30 mile aide station. All went as planned but the 94 degree day and strong head winds on the back side of the course slowed my bike leg to a pace slower than I wanted. The upside is that after committing to an entire regemin of First Endurance racing products, it was the first time I finished this race without bloating, GI distress or bonking. Luckily I had a decent swim to make up for the slower bike time. Finished 9th Overall and 1st in my age group. Not too shabby considering the tough racing conditions.I wanted a bit more from my results, but I'll take it.1st Endurance nutrition helped me get through a race where people were dropping on the course like flies. I'm sold!
Suggestion: could First Endurance create a frame mounted flask holder? Every other product out there on the market stinks!
