I knew how hard Phuket was going to be nutrition-wise as I had done it many times before when it was only a shorter distance race. In all of those other races, I had always finished very depleted and suffered over the last couple miles of the run. After 8 weeks of no racing, which feels like a whole year for me, I had remember all the things I take for a race. That's one good thing about having First Endurance as a sponsor. They provide everything I need, so I didn't have to think too hard.

I thought I would stick to my new breakfast plan that I've switched to in the last few races, since I've had success with that method. My new breakfast is really light - just a bagel and strawberry jam. I'm really liking the lighter breakfast as I don't feel so bloated going into the first part of the race. It's also a lot easier eating a light breakfast than forcing down a lot of calories.
