Great question..and the answer is...yes it will be compromised, but go ahead and warm it up. The only thing you lose is a bit and I mean a very little bit of degradation. You may lose just a bit of glutamine, vitamin c and also the flavors degrade a…

About me
Jon and Linda-Ann Newsome, affectionately known as “Team Newsome”, are triathlon fixtures in the Ashburn,VA community.Theirs is a story that includes balancing busy schedules, overcoming setbacks, racing a TON,sharing the tri-life,and being role-models for others. If you want to see how they do it,read this:
Jon and Linda lead full lives.Jon is a director at a major international software company and travels a lot. His family is often amazed he knows what time zone he is in.Linda-Ann is a reading tutor for elementary students. The Newsomes have 2 teens, and are kept busy with their family and social lives, which is itself a priority and often kills any opportunity for training.Despite their busy training schedule, they manage to keep their priorities in line.Jon particularly makes it a point to make it to every one of his children's games and meets no matter how hectic his travel or training schedule.
In 2007 in a charity basketball game,Linda-Ann suited up for a good cause (and possibly to relive her college All-American glory) with the following words from Jon echoing in her ears, "Don't you DARE get hurt...we have Ironman Lake Placid in six weeks!"
Only 5 minutes into the game it was Game OVER for Linda-Ann's 07 Lake Placid. She blew out her ACL.Within 3 months, she was back on the Podium in her last 2 tri’s races of the season. This kind of performance and grit landed her as a featured athlete in HerSports magazine.Unfortunately Linda-Ann had another hic-up in her season this year. While she and Jon were on a 40 mile training run on the Appalachian Trail, they figured hey…let’s get an early start for the JFK 50 in November.Well, Linda-Ann got tired around mile 23 and took a nasty face plant on a rock, knocking out some teeth and requiring loads of stitches. Luckily great dentists and doctors put her back together in time for her to finish the season strong with another age group win at MedExpress WVA and finishing Ironman Louisville in 12:42:35.
Jon has not been without his own setbacks. At the outset of this season,he acquired a nasty virus while traveling. At first he thought it was a mild flu,but within 24 hours the virus attacked his heart and his symptoms began to look more like a heart attack. Luckily the ER Doc who treated Jon saw the blackened toenails and the IM shirt.Being a marathoner himself, thought that a heart attack wasn’t likely so he pursued some other investigations. In the end,Jon was diagnosed with pericarditis brought on by that very nasty bug. This situation,in a man with less heart--or one that hadn't trained his heart so much over the years--is frequently fatal and causes the need for LOTS of surgery and cardiac rehab. His recovery was miraculous as a direct result of his endurance training.Within one month he was training at marathon distances without any side effects. Unfortunately, he had to miss Shamrock, and the opportunity to qualify for Boston with his wife.
After 24 years together,Team Newsome is just as exited to race, train, and spend time together as they were when they started their journey 24 years ago. They have been long time members of the triathlon club Final Kick of Virginia Beach and are dedicated to a lifestyle promoting health and fitness.

Can EFS and Ultragen powder be warmed up?

Well, the cookies and egg nog are gone. We are getting back into a solid training routine.
It has been VERY cold here in Northern VA which prompts this question-
...can the EFS and Ultragen powders be heated making a warm drink or will the chemical integrity of the mix be compromised???
I've been warming them up,the taste is good, and I soooooo do not enjoy cold drinks during or after runs in these sub-freezing temps.
Thanx
