This past weekend I had an incredible experience racing the 32nd annual Wasatch 100. It was my 3rd 100 and everything came together perfectly. Most important I think I nailed the fueling. A few…Continue

Pocatello 50- spreading some First Endurance Love 1 Reply

This past weekend was the Pocatello 50, a tough 50 mile trail race with nearly 13k' feet of ascent. I had an incredible race and felt great for almost the entire race. I attribute the constant energy…Continue

Thanks DC. Hopefully it takes off and I can continue to build my trail map inventory all over.

I just finished up my website and would love for you guys to take a look and see what you think. Why I realize the AZ trail maps don't help you much there are several blog posts, race reports, and product reviews including EFS. The website is www.mcdowellmountainman.com.

Congrats on Wasatch and completing the grand slam. That is an amazing accomplishment. I like the slurry idea and will give it a go for my Javelina training. Did you use any Ultragen during the race or just after. I was amazed at how I felt during LH taking it every 25 miles. Congrats again

Jay. Great to hear that you had a super positive experience. I meant to comment on facebook actually. 19:01 is awesome. Sounds like your nutrition is dialed. Feels great to have an awesome nutrition company in our corner, eh?! Keep up the strong running (an resting!). See you around. DC

Kevin.... I will be at Wasatch, but I will be pacing my buddy Tim Parr. So... I will cheer for you there but cannot pace. I will keep my ears open for anyone interested in pacing. So cool that you are ridiculously close to completing the slam! Keep at it and I look forward to seeing you again in Utah. All the best. DC

I wanted to thank everyone for the advise for my first hundred last weekend. The ultragen was great at the 35 and 70 mile mark, drank mild grape efs the whole race and mixed in a few liquid shots and felt great all day. I was able to finish 4th overall in 19:01:12 and second in the 30-39 division. Love first endurance and it feels great to get that first 100 mile buckle.

Anyone going to be at or around Wasatch next weekend (Sept 9-10)? It's the last stop on my Grand Slam of Ultrarunning adventure and I'm still looking for a couple/few pacers to keep me company during the last 50+ miles. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

I tend to use 1 or 2 bottles of Ultragen near the middle of a long ultra. Partly for the extra protien and for it's other anti-inflammatory effects. Otherwise is EFS and EFS Liquid Shots for me all the way.
